In all three St. John’s schools, students helped out in the kitchen. This was probably the crew that most did not want to be on. While other work areas had time off – those in the kitchen had to be on duty for three meals a day and for special events they were expected to put in extra time. Being a crew leader in the kitchen usually meant chasing down your crew members before and after meals.
Some students learned to love cooking while on this crew … and have gone on to careers in the culinary field. Others couldn’t wait to switch crews. Which were you?
