Remember the “stop sign” runs? This was a staple at the Alberta school. Perhaps the running was to train for canoe trips or snowshoeing, or maybe just the weekly “headmaster’s run”; but all students will remember every step on the road, the rolling hills along the way that made it seem a longer route than it truly was.
There were even some short cuts – but I’m sure no one used those!
Or at the Manitoba school – there were the practice runs along the Father Turney Road.
Send us your memories of these “runs” – we would love to hear your story. (Click on the title and scroll to the bottom to submit your story. Click on the photo to see a larger version).
