This week’s gallery of photos comes from another early album of negatives – June 1964, a canoe trip from Minneapolis to Winnipeg. The students are grade 7’s and 8’s. This was the first time the trip was done. The canoes used were the Spokane Garry and the Cochran (new to the school the year before). Very “Huck Finnish” pictures.
While this was a Manitoba school canoe trip, there are some interesting Alberta connections for a few of the students on this trip. One went on to become a Liberal senator from Alberta, one a former senator-in-waiting from Alberta and two are former headmasters of the Alberta school. Who would have thought?
