This week’s memory is inspired by a visit this week from an alumnus from the very early days of the school – Lee Cormie (laundry #100 – the first ever St. John’s laundry number!). After spending several days reminiscing, Lee suggested this memory as he flashed back to one of Keith Bennett’s warming fires on a cutter trip. Lee should tell the whole story, and perhaps he will submit a memory, once he arrives back home. But suffice it to say that Bennett was famous (or perhaps infamous) for his campfires.
