Most students from the St. John’s schools will remember having school/staff dogs follow along on snowshoe runs. At the Manitoba school Ivor was the first – he was basically the school mascot, and he snowshoed more miles than almost anyone. Shalimar, Rod Voss’ dog is another one many will remember. There were also the neighbour dogs who followed along and end up back at the school at the end of the day – probably wondering how to get back home.
Who were the dogs you remember out on snowshoe runs? What are your memories of them? Send us your story.
