Almost every St. John’s canoe trip would inevitably come across an amazing “host” along the route. Some were families who lived along the river or lake, others might have a fishing cabin. The generosity of these hosts were sometimes legendary.

The posted photos were taken on the Athabasca River trip in 1997. Can you imagine, after volunteering to allow this group to camp on your land, seeing the explosion of gear and people that was the result!
