We all remember at the beginning of each snowshoe season learning (or re-learning) the art of tying the lampwick on your snowshoes. This had to be done correctly or the discomfort that followed you through the day was guaranteed. In later years lampwick become incredibly expensive and difficult to find. The answer to the problem was a switch to harnesses. These were easy to put on and generally speaking were a hit with the users. (Purists were not so easily converted).
What was your preference? Who still has their lampwick? Send us your memories.
