Lacrosse was a staple at St. John’s. It was played at all three schools and many former students still have their sticks stored away somewhere in their homes. Equipment changed through the years – at the Manitoba school in the early years the goal tenders wore the old Sears catalogue for leg protection, and back catchers face masks. In later years, there was some pretty sophisticated equipment for protection.

Whatever the era, the games were always competitive. What are your memories of playing lacrosse? Send us your story.
