Two-man canoeing was not part of the outdoor program at St. John’s until the later years. When introduced, it was used to acquire canoeing certification for staff and students. For some senior students, even after years of experience in the outdoors with canoes, their experience was not recognized by any outdoor employers.
The pictures shown are from a 2004 canoeing clinic in whitewater training, conducted in northern Saskatchewan at the Churchill River Canoe Outfitters in Missinipe.
