A staff Order of Good Cheer “The Barber Shop Quartet”

During the first weeks of school, the students were at the school seven days a week for at least a month, some years up to six weeks.  So a variety of activities were set up to provide entertainment and a break from the routine.

One such activity was the “Order of Good Cheer”.  (A holdover from the days in New France with Champlain – when during the cold winters they would have special evenings of entertainment to keep up morale).

At St. John’s, each grade and the staff took turns providing the food and entertainment for one Saturday evening through the fall and winter. There have been some memorable skits and food fare down through the years.
