These pictures will bring back memories for some of the early SJCBS students. This play, the Thomas Beckett Production was put on in the 1966-67 school year. The photos are provided by Tom Carberry (SJCBS). There are some students that I can identify – but it would be more fun to let you do that.

Not to spoil Barb’s fun but let’s see how good some of you are: One picture contains Rory Nugent who I believe worked at the Alberta school or was a dedicated volunteer. His father was the Member of Parliament for, I believe, what was called Edmonton Strathcona…( the cool street in Edmonton, Whyte, is contained in this riding…if you allow a MB some liberty). Can you spot him? Another contains a member of the 1976 Canadian Olympic Kayak team, Steven King. Can you name him? I think we called the play Murder in the Cathedral and I believe the esteemed Michael Maunder was the director. I was the lighting technician which consisted of being at the top of a tall ladder at the back of the dining room in the old building and having to plug an extension cord into a ceiling electrical socket in the dark….no wonder I ended up with curly hair when it grew back!
