I think that this was a ‘fun day’ associated with one of the interschool races. The timing was such that the Selkirk observers arrived early, and so rather than have everyone stand around smoking and getting into trouble, we put on a mini festival. The 2×4 multi-ski was in the outdoor room for decades after.
